The City Council has set a Dec. 6 public hearing to consider formation of a special improvement district at 114th South and Fifth West. The hearing will be part of the council's regular 8 p.m. meeting.

City Administrator Richard Warne said the $41,500 project involves paving and installing curb and gutter along 3,000 feet of an existing dirt road. Warne said when the area was annexed, residents were already living along the dirt road.If there is no opposition, the city hopes to make the improvements in the spring.
