A 39-year-old Perry man has pleaded not guilty to charges of manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of drugs with intent to distribute in connection with an alleged methamphetamine lab.

Michael L. Green entered the pleas before 1st District Judge Gordon Low. The judge continued the arraignment to Dec. 5 to allow Green to arrange for a court-appointed attorney.Green was arrested Sept. 16 at a Perry residence following a 41/2-month investigation. Officers said they confiscated $600,000 worth of methamphetamines, $75,000 worth of lab equipment, and chemicals valued at about $15,000.
