Salt Lake firefighters quickly doused a fire in the attic of the downtown Quality Inn and blamed the blaze on some equipment that is being used for remodeling.

The fire broke out at the hotel, 164 W. Sixth South, shortly after 9 p.m., said Battalion Chief LaMont Epper-son. The fire burned mostly insulation in a small portion of the attic above the office, but no injuries were reported.The blaze was out within 10 minutes, and crews spent about an hour going through the attic ripping out insulation.
