A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed Monday in a field near the West German border with Luxembourg, slightly injuring the pilot when he ejected, an Air Force spokeswoman said.
It was third crash of a fighter plane over the densely populated country since March 30. A U.S. Army helicopter also crashed earlier this month.
The pilot ejected safely from the F-16 before the craft plowed into an open field. Brandon said he was taken to the U.S. Army's Landsthul hospital near Kaiserslautern in southwestern West Germany.
