The first trade-in program for users and resellers of "favored" Apple computers has been announced by Sun Remarketing Inc. of Logan during the Macintosh Business Expo in Anaheim, Calif.

President Bob Cook said the trade-in program allows the company to enter the "favored computer market." According to Cook, favored Apple computers include the Macintosh Plus, Macintosh SE, Mac II and Apple II machines. For users and resellers, the program translates to an effective channel for routing used Apple computers, he said.Sun Remarketing has been in the business of reselling used computers since 1983. The company services and supplies more than 50,000 customers nationally, and until the trade-in program was announced the company concentrated on such out-of-production Apple computers as the Lisa/XL and the Apple III.

"With the flux of the new Macintosh computers from Apple and the expected arrival of 25 more models next year alone," Cook said the market has created the demand for the Apple trade-in program.
