Scouts will be out in record numbers Saturday to distribute some 450,000 bags throughout the state in a food drive sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America.

In "Scouting for Food," youths will leave the bags at residents' homes in the areas served by the Utah National Parks, Great Salt Lake, Cache Valley and Lake Bonneville councils. On Nov. 19 the Scouts will return for the bags, hoping to pick up generous donations of commercially canned or packaged food. Utah Power & Light Co. will furnish bags and boxes for the collection effort, and the Utah National Guard will provide personnel and equipment for the undertaking.
