Brigham Young University faculty members Earlene Durrant and Ruel Barker have been elected to serve as state and district presidents, respectively, of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Barker is a faculty member in the College of Physical Education and will serve as president-elect for one year, followed by a year's service as president and another year as past president.Durrant, also a member of the College of Physical Education, will serve the 400-member Utah association for a three-year term, including a year each as president-elect, president and past president.

The alliance is an educational organization designed to give support, encouragement and assistance to its members. Members are encouraged to initiate, develop and conduct programs of health, leisure and movement-related activities for the enrichment of human health.
