Rep. Howard Nielson, R-Utah, has named staff member Ronald R. Crittenden as his new state director, replacing Robert Jeppsen, who left the post to pursue business interests.
Crittenden has worked for Nielson since the 1982 election when he was Nielson's Wasatch County campaign chairman. He was Wasatch County treasurer between 1979 and 1982.Crittenden will administer the 3rd District congressman's activities and will work with all of the federal and state agencies operating in the district.
He had worked on Nielson's staff with public land, agricultural and natural resource issues. Crittenden supervised the agricultural and natural-resource advisory committees and served in Washington as Nielson's legislative assistant on the 1985 farm bill. He has spent the past year as Nielson's field manager, representing the congressman in the district's rural counties.
