A 69-year-old retired janitor who was stripped of U.S. citizenship for his role as a Nazi concentration camp guard has agreed to leave this country for good by year's end, the U.S. Justice Department says.

Neal M. Sher, head of the department's Nazi-hunting Office of Special Investigations, said Michael Schmidt, of Lincolnwood, Ill., signed an agreement conceding his deportability and agreed to leave by Dec. 31.Sher said he did not know what country might accept Schmidt.
