Radical students set fire Friday to the provincial home of former President Chun Doo-hwan to press demands for his arrest on corruption charges.
Five riot police were injured in the firebomb attack on Chun's former home in Hyupchon, 175 miles southeast of Seoul. Six students, some of whom carried steel pipes, were arrested.The attack touched off a fire that burned three thatched-roof structures at the house. The house was inhabited and being guarded by a platoon-size riot police unit at the time the attack occurred.
Several fire trucks and 100 village people were mobilized to help put out the blaze, which took nearly 11/2 hours to bring under control.
