The success of a recent law enforcement roadblock on I-70 in Sevier County will assure that the practice continues, says Sheriff John Meacham.

The six-hour blockade resulted in more than 50 arrests and citations, ranging from driving without licenses to transportation of drugs. It was conducted jointly by the Utah Highway Patrol, the sheriff's office, members of the North Sevier Search and Rescue unit and Salina police."We've been doing it (roadblocks) for the past two years and plan on frequent road blocks in the future," Meacham said.

The blockade also resulted in the seizure of $7,064 in cash (suspected to have been obtained in illegal drug operations), a car, a pickup truck and a van.
