R. Kent Moon, district director of the Small Business Administration,
ill resign his position effective Nov. 21 to become a senior vice president of Zions First National Bank and manager of a new small business and entrepreneurial department created to provide capital to Utah small businesses.The announcement was made by Roy W. Simmons, bank chairman of the board and chief executive officer, who said the new department is designed specifically to help Utah's small business expand and grow.
"I compliment Zions Bank for its role and commitment to Utah small business. Establishment of the department represents a significant step forward for the Utah economy and I look forward to being part of this effort," said Moon.
Simmons said the new department will provide short and long-term capital to Utah small business, enhance capital transfer from major financial markets into Utah by pooling and selling government-guaranteed small business loans and provide a major information link between Utah entrepreneurs and national financial markets.
