The Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will expand its trade show concept from a four-hour session, held previously in March, to a two-day event held in November.

At Tuesday's chamber board of governors meeting, the members voted to accept a recommendation from Deborah Bayle, chamber vice president, about expanding the trade show.Bayle said at the first trade show in March 1987 there were 130 exhibitors and that increased to 180 in March 1988. Her plan is to scrap the trade show scheduled for March 1989 and delay it until November 1989, which will give her more time to plan the two-day event.

Previously, only chamber members were allowed to attend the trade shows, but Bayle now wants the exhibitors limited to chamber members, but the public allowed to attend for a fee.

Bayle said some of the events that could be scheduled during the two days are presenting the small business of the year award, a luncheon with a speaker, holding the regular chamber quarterly meeting and hold a meeting of the Women in Business Committee.
