A postcard mailed from the Titanic fetched $2,068 during an auction Friday, the 76th anniversary of the ocean liner's sinking, but a water-stained letter found on the body of a dead passenger went unsold.

The auction of 200 items of Titanic memorabilia raised $56,400, Onslow's Auctioneers reported.

One collector paid $2,068 for the postcard stamped on the ship and posted when it stopped in Ireland.

Northern Ireland's Ulster Folk and Transport Museum paid the auction's top price of $14,100 for a 1912 watercolor painting entitled "Fitting Out The Titanic, Belfast."
