They're calling it CONduit 2: Son of CONduit, which seems appropriate for the second CONduit science fiction and fantasy convention
The event takes place today through Sunday in the Quality Inn City Center, 154 W. 600 South. Single day passes at the door are $24 for adults, $22 for youth (13-17) and $12 for children (6-12).Among the non-profit convention's speakers this year are Roger Zelazny, author of "Damnation Alley," "Lord of the Light" and other novels, as well a numerous short stories in Analog, Omni, etc.; Michael Stackpole, author of "The Warrior" trilogy of novels and a designer of several video games; and Elizabeth T. Danforth, artist, editor, writer, designer and the convention's Artist Guest of Honor.
Also speaking will be local author M. Shayne Bell ("Inuit"), Utah author Dave Wolverton ("On My Way to Paradise"), game designer Erick Wujick ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"), comic inker Steve Addlesee ("Time Jumper") and cartoonist Michael Goodwin ("My Stars!").
There will be a "SwapMeet" for people to trade and buy collectables, a "Dealers Room" with tables of science-fiction and fantasy merchandise, "Filksinging," a short story contest, a costume contest and many other programs.
