The Utah Department of Transportation has scheduled a public hearing Nov. 15 to consider the widening of Antelope Drive of U-108.
The hearing will be held in Layton City Hall conference room, 437 N. Wasatch Drive, at 7:30 p.m.Lynn Zollinger, UDOT engineer, said the project includes widening the existing road to four traffic lanes with shoulders, a center median lane, curb, gutter and sidewalk in selected areas. The estimated cost of the project is $1.6 million. UDOT expects to begin acquiring needed property in January, to begin construction in April and to complete the project in the fall.
The meeting will also discuss an environmental study on the proposed project. The document is available for public inspection at UDOT headquarters in Salt Lake City, the Federal Highway Administration offices in Salt Lake City and in UDOT District 1 offices in Ogden.
Those who want to submit written comments should direct them to the Utah Transportation Commission and mail them to the Utah Department of Transportation, Attention: James E. Johnston, Community Involvement Officer, 4501 S. 27th West, Salt Lake City, UT 84119-5998. Letters must be received before Nov. 25 to be included in the official transcript.
