A West Valley man was treated for two stab wounds and his wife booked into jail after an argument ended violently Thursday evening at their apartment near 40th West and 47th South.

Both the man, 20 and his wife, 26, told police they had been arguing at about 5 p.m. when she hit him in the face and he threatened to kill her if she hit him again, according to a police report. The woman said she felt threatened and went to the kitchen and got a 12-inch butcher knife.

The man said he was leaving the apartment when he was stabbed twice in the back, according to the report. He went to a neighbor's house where he called police and was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital. There he was treated for two wounds, which were about one inch deep.
