A 41-year-old Utah State prison inmate serving time for sexual abuse of a 5-year-old girl and the setting on fire of a house trailer in order to collect insurance money was denied a parole date Friday by the Board of Pardons.

During its Friday morning hearings conducted at the Young Adult Correctional Facility, the board cited James M. Lindsey's lack of continued psychological and sexual therapy as a reason not to set a release date. Lindsey said four months of therapy ended last August.

The sexual abuse of a child and arson charges are second- and third-degree felonies, with Lindsey given sentences of 1 to 15 years and 0 to 5 years, respectively.
