The trial of a man who allegedly turned in photographs of partially nude children as part of a college art class project has been set to begin Dec. 6, 1st District Court officials said.

Ronald C. Hinkley, 39, is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, sodomy on a child, aggravated sexual abuse of a child and sexual abuse of a child.Hinkley was arrested 11 months ago after police officers searched his residence and seized what they called a cache of pornographic photographs and videotapes of young girls.

The allegedly obscene materials were confiscated after a Utah State University art instructor gave police "questionable" photographs of nude and partially nude girls, investigators said.

Judge VeNoy Christoffersen has scheduled a Nov. 7 hearing on all pretrial motions and set aside three days, Dec. 6-8, for Hinkley's trial.
