To the editor:

Maybe we voters should give Merrill Cook a closer look. If he can do all he says he can do, it follows that he should also solve the dropout problem, eliminate teen-age pregnancies, cut the divorce rate in half, and still have time to consult the U.N. on a permanent settlement of the Iran-Iraq conflict! On a more realistic plane, it's hard not to be drawn to Ted Wilson. He may not have produced marvels, but with a track record of energetic leadership, persuasive consensus-building, and a salesman for the state he loves, Ted is tough competition.
