A Tennessee man was arraigned Tuesday on charges he abducted and sexually assaulted a University of Utah student.

Marshall G. Jones, 18, faces a Nov. 1 hearing on one count of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated sexual assault, all first-degree felonies.Jones is charged with accosting a 22-year-old woman in the parking lot outside Milton Bennion Hall about 9:30 p.m. last Thursday, said U. Police Chief Wayne Shepher.

Jones brandished a screwdriver and forced her to drive him in her car to the area of Second South and Eighth East, where he sexually assaulted her, according to a criminal complaint.

Shepherd said Jones became a suspect after the victim identified him in a photo spread.
