Friday night, besides being the income tax and candidate filing deadlines, was also the deadline for federal candidates to file spending reports.

The reports need only be postmarked April 15, and the lieutenant governor's office had received reports from Rep. Jim Hansen, R-Utah, and his Democratic opponent, Gunn McKay, by 5 p.m.Hansen, a three-term incumbent in the 1st Congressional District, has raised $53,585 since the first of the year and has $32,000 in cash.

McKay, who was the 1st District congressman from 1970 to 1980, raised $41,076 since Jan. 1 and has $6,153 in cash.

Other federal candidates' reports will be published when they are received by the Lieutenant Governor's Office.
