Marilyn Sandberg, director of the Child Abuse Coordinating Council for Weber and Morgan counties, and Colleen Bangerter, Utah's first lady, were honored recently by the Utah Chapter for Prevention of Child Abuse for their "consistent caring and effort."

The group presented awards for outstanding efforts to prevent child abuse during an awards banquet in the Hilton Hotel.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints received an award for its anti-abuse advertising campaign. The final award went to Don Cash, representing Mountain Fuel, for distributing photographs of missing children, providing a booth on child abuse at the Utah State Fair and establishing "safe trucks" where children can get help.
