The Bureau of Land Management is reminding boaters that permits are still required year-round on the Green River even though the $7.50 fee is not enforced during winter months.

Permit stipulations require boaters to carry an adequate first-aid kit, air pumps, self-contained portable toilet, fire pan to contain ashes, approved life jackets plus one extra jacket per boat, an extra oar, paddle or motor, a bail bucket, a Type 4 throw bag and a fire extinguisher for motorized boats.Boaters should also be aware that upstream travel is not permitted between Sand Wash and Swasey's Rapid.

Permits and a complete list of permit requirements are available from the BLM's Price office on Ninth North and Seventh East. The fee was suspended for the winter beginning Sept. 30.
