Former heavyweight boxing champion Leon Spinks is mixing drinks instead of throwing punches. Spinks is going to bartending school and also is working at Arietha's Lounge in downtown Detroit. "Maybe someday, down the road, I may open my own place," Spinks told the Detroit Free Press. "Maybe someday you'll see the name Spinks in lights." Spinks' name was last in lights 10 years ago when he upset Muhammad Ali but his career started sliding downhill immediately afterward and there were numerous scrapes with the law. But bar owner Arietha DeLoach says Spinks has been a knockout behind the bar during his four weeks of internship. "He's not too proud to work after the fact that he had been a millionaire," she said. "He's back to square one now. He is very dependable. He's a people's person. Everyone likes him."
