The auditorium and exhibit room at Bryce Canyon National Park will close Nov. 1 for renovation, and new exhibits and a new audiovisual program are expected to be completed by March 1989.
Meanwhile, the park is now on its winter schedule, said Superintendent Bob Reynolds. It is open throughout the year. The visitor center will remain open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except Christmas Day."The pleasant fall days are excellent for extended hiking and exploring the park trails," Reynolds said. "Once the snow flies, there will be opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, in addition to the beautiful winter landscape."
Park officials will present a videotape and slide show in the visitor center lobby until the new program is available.
Publication sales and information about the park will continue to be available at the visitor center throughout the winter, the superintendent said.
