Students participating in the University of Utah's special education program could soon have a greenhouse.
The Murray Board of Education on Tuesday declared an unused greenhouse as surplus property and authorized it to be donated to the U., if the university agrees to cover all moving costs. The board decided to get rid of the building last year but rescinded that decision when Murray City asked to use the building. Recently, the city told the district that it will no longer use the facility.
No bids were received for the building when it was advertised last year. However, the state prison and the U. expressed interest in obtaining the building for no cost. The board authorized the district administration to work with U. officials for the transfer.
