Salt Lake-based Automated Language Processing Systems Inc. said it will begin doing business as ALPNET.

Company President Fred Zirkle said the name more closely reflects the new corporate direction following the recent acquisition of five translation services companies worldwide.ALPNET now comprises a worldwide organization providing translation services at 22 locations in France, Germany, Spain, Switzer-land, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

"This unique network consists of a complete range of languages and the technology base offered by our computer-assisted translation system software," said Zirkle.
