The U.S. Travel and Tourism Administration has agreed to a Wyoming congressional delegation request to help get the word out that Yellowstone National Park is still a great place to visit.

The agency agreed on Thursday to conduct a series of press briefings in London, Paris and Frankfurt, West Germany, to promote the park as a tourist attraction.Sens. Malcolm Wallop and Al Simpson and Rep. Dick Cheney said the European briefings will be specifically designed to overcome any negative image about Yellowstone that may have spread to Europe. The effort will target both professional travel agents and tourists.

The European press briefings will be held between Oct. 30 and Nov. 4, and representatives from the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service and Wyoming and Montana tourism officials will participate.

Wyoming's congressional delegation said quick action is the key to maintaining the tourist traffic to Yellowstone.
