Youngsters planning to collect treats door-to-door this Halloween can pick up a free safety bag, and once it's filled with goodies, have it X-rayed to screen for harmful objects.
It's all part of a Halloween safety program sponsored by Intermountain Health Care and KSL Television. The orange-and-white bags have a flying witch and list of safety tips printed on one side. The reverse lists all IHC hospitals and InstaCare centers providing a free X-ray scan of the treats kids collect. The bags are available at most IHC facilities and KSL.
Sponsors expect to distribute more than 100,000 bags this year. The free X-ray service is not limited to goodies collected in the safety bags they distribute.
