The principal of Liberty Elementary School has been named the new Murray School District director of secondary education.
Stanford E. Mackay assumes the position July 1.Although the job is new, its creation won't increase the number of staff members in the district's central office, said district spokeswoman Julie Woodward.
Mackay will replace Allen Bauer, director of curriculum, who is retiring. With a reshuffling of assignments, the curriculum duties will be given to other administrative personnel, Woodward said.
The new administrator moved to Liberty Elementary School last fall after being principal of Riverview Junior High School for 15 years.
