Donn Clendenon, the most valuable player of the 1969 World Series, was sentenced to seven days in the Minnehaha County jail after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

Circuit Judge R.D. Hurd also gave Clendenon two years probation and told him to perform 200 hours of community service work.Clendenon, 53, played 12 seasons in the major leagues with Pittsburgh, Montreal, the New York Mets and St. Louis.
