"Irreverent and Irresistible" is the way Salt Lake comedian James Hofheins describes himself. It's also the name of his 21-city tour of the Mountain West for the Utah Council for the Blind and other blind service organizations.

Hofheins will kick off his tour at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the Market Street Room of the Salt Lake Hilton Hotel. Proceeds will go toward those people who receive assistance from the Utah Council for the Blind."One of the reasons we chose to open the tour in Salt Lake City is because it is estimated that there are close to 2,500 blind persons in Davis, Salt Lake and Utah counties alone," notes Hofheins.

The comic will also be performing in Ogden, Park City, Vernal, Cedar City, Tooele, Logan and Ephraim, plus cities in Colorado, Nevada and Wyoming.

Tickets, which are $5 in advance and $7.50 at the door, are available at Highland Storage, 4010 S. Highland Dr.; Bell's 48th St. Market, 1207 W. 48th South in Murray; and Balloon Boutique and Party Place, 474 E. South Temple; or by calling Hofheins at 272-8740.
