Hunters packing for the Wasatch-Cache National Forest this weekend need to remember that fire restrictions allow campfires only in developed campgrounds.

The restriction also includes state, county and private lands within forest boundaries in Box Elder, Rich, Cache, Weber, Morgan, Davis, Summit and Salt Lake counties, said Forest Service spokeswoman Kathy Jo Pollock.Uinta National Forest officials lifted a similar restriction Friday, but state, county and private lands within that forest's boundaries in Wasatch, Utah and Juab counties are still restricted.

There are no fire restrictions on Bureau of Land Management property and no restrictions are in place on public lands south of Utah County.

Forest officials are still urging hunters to be careful with fire because of tinder-dry conditions in many areas.
