A North Salt Lake man Tuesday pleaded guilty in 2nd District Court to an automobile homicide charge in the July 5 death of a Provo motorcyclist.
Howard D. Young, 59, 150 Pelinore Drive, was charged with the third-degree felony in the death of Michael J. Noble, 56, Provo, who died after his motorcycle collided head-on with Young's car early in the morning of July 5.Police said Young's car was headed south in the northbound lanes of I-15 when the accident occurred. Young exceeded the .08 blood alcohol level for driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, according to court records.
Young was arraigned on the charge, which carries a prison term of zero to five years, on Sept. 13 and originally pleaded not guilty. He changed his plea to guilty Tuesday in a pretrial hearing, and Judge Douglas L. Cornaby scheduled sentencing for Nov. 15.
