The Jordan School Board approved a proposal Tuesday that will allow the community of Herriman to develop recreational facilities on approximately four acres of school-owned property.

The recreation development will take place on district property at 132nd South and 60th West. The Herriman Lions Club, the Southwest Community Association and Herriman citizens are cooperating to develop ball fields and other recreation facilities at the site. They are seeking support from the school district and the Salt Lake County Rec-reation Department to pursue the project.

Either the school district or the community can terminate the agreement with 180 days notice, so the property would be available in the future for school use if necessary.
