Visitors continue to pour into Temple Square, with the 3 millionth person of the year stopping Sept. 8.

During the month, 355,301 visitors, an increase of 71,061 over the same month in 1987, toured Temple Square, according to Director Joseph F. Horne. It was early December before the number 3 million visited the historic square last year.Not only is Temple Square Utah's top tourist attraction but it is now ranked among the top attractions in the western United States, said Quig Nielsen, public relations director for the square.

"This undoubtedly will be the best year ever for visitors from foreign countries coming to Temple Square, and the number of travel writers coming here from the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan has increased 10-fold."
