The child sex abuse and kidnapping trial of Thomas C. Headley is scheduled to begin Feb. 27, 1989, in Logan, 1st District Court officials say.

Judge Gordon Low agreed to move the trial from Box Elder County to Cache County and has set aside four days for the proceedings against Headley, 31, Snowville, in the 1987 abduction of a 6-year-old Dewey-ville girl.Headley is charged with kidnapping of a child, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

The allegations stem from the March 24, 1987, abduction of the young girl from outside a Garland, Box Elder County, school. She was dropped off several hours later in Malta, Idaho, about 60 miles northwest of her home.

Headley is the second man charged in the case. Frank J. Harvey, Elma, Wash., was convicted and sentenced to prison before prosecutors acknowledged last June they had accused the wrong man and dropped all charges against Harvey.
