Police were seeking two men for questioning Monday in the apparent beating death of a Salt Lake man found slain in his home late Sunday.

The body of the man, 53, was discovered by two neighbors about 10:35 p.m. in the basement of the man's home, in the 900 block of S. Grace Court (425 East). The victim's name was being withheld until relatives are notified, police said.Homicide squad Sgt. Don Bell said preliminary autopsy results show the man suffered some injuries that occurred in a fight. A head injury could have been the fatal blow, but a heart attack has not been ruled out, Bell said.

Bell said the death occurred Saturday morning. The victim had been out drinking Friday night with some acquaintances. Police have questioned two of four people he was with Friday night and early Saturday, the sergeant said.
