A senior Vietnamese air force officer said in an interview published Wednesday that deficient organization, weak training and poor Soviet-supplied technology have contributed to "a fairly high level" of flight safety problems.

The rare admissions were made in a government radio interview with the Director of the Air Force Training Schools broadcast by Hanoi radio Monday. A translation of the interview, which did not name the director, was released Wednesday.Almost all of Vietnam's air technology is supplied by the Soviet Union, which provides most of the country's military equipment.
