Polygram Records has announced that "Crossroads," a comprehensive 73-track retrospective of premier guitarist Eric Clapton's 25-year musical career, will be released worldwide on April 18.

The five-hour set, available in album, cassette and compact disc, features remastered music from the Yardbirds, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie, Derek & the Dominos and Clapton's solo work, including a newly recorded version of "After Midnight."The set also features some material never before released, including live performances from the Dominos with Clapton solos and a Clapton duet with Peter Tosh.

"Eric Clapton has been many things, from blues purist to guitar god to isolated casualty of the rock wars to rediscovered pop star," said Polygram official Bill Levenson. "His music has been an inspiration to many artists, and at each new phase in his career, a watershed for popular music in general."
