Jason Overman is resting at home after being released from Primary Children's Medical Center.
The Orem 6-year-old was diagnosed in February as having neuroblastoma, a rare cancer affecting the nervous system. After community fund-raisers brought in $192,000 to pay for a bone-marrow transplant - Jason's best chance at survival - Jason went to UCLA Medical Center for chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and on Aug. 18, received marrow from his sister.
He was transferred to Primary Children's Medical Center three weeks ago.
Jason will be quarantined at home for about six months, family members said. His immune system is working about half as well as a normal person's, so exposure to any virus could threaten his life. He will be allowed no visitors except family members.
