C. Grant Hurst, senior vice president and director of corporate sales, Valley Bank and Trust Co., has been elected president of the Jordan Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization that encourages public education.

Hurst will head drives to raise private money to meet Jordan District needs that cannot be funded with public funds. This year's foundation's goals include increasing the number of classroom computers and ensuring high school libraries have encyclopedias and other reference books.

Serving with him are Dale Kimball, vice president; Clark Stringham, past president; Allan R. Nelson, secretary/treasurer; and members Richard Bradford, Brinton R. Burbidge, Jane C. Callister, Don A. Carpenter, Marvin Jenson, Dan C. Jorgensen, Kenneth Kraudy and Superintendent Raymond Whittenburg.
