An Ogden truck driver, being investigated by officials in connection with rapes in three states, has waived his preliminary hearing in connection with four Ogden attacks against women.
Blaine H. Nelson, 34, was scheduled for a hearing Wednesday before 3rd Circuit Judge Stanton Taylor. But the hearing was waived and Nelson will appear in 2nd District Court on April 27 to enter his pleas.
The defendant is facing 13 felony counts in Ogden and 11 more in Cedar City. Nelson is accused of threatening four women with a knife in their Ogden homes and then raping them. He is also accused of sexually assaulting five women in Cedar City.
Law enforcement officials from Wyoming and Arizona have also talked to Nelson about cases in those states.
In Ogden, Nelson is facing charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated sexual assault, sodomy and sexual abuse in connection with rapes that occurred in March and April.
Nelson is being held in the Weber County Jail in lieu of $140,000 bail.
