Police were questioning a Salt Lake man Thursday in connection with the apparent strangulation of his roommate.
The manager of Smith Apartments, 228 S. Third East, found the body of Ronnie H. Dyer, 42, about 12:40 p.m., said police Detective John Foster. It appeared Dyer had been killed earlier Wednesday, Foster said.
The victim's roommate, Michael J. Wimble, 33, was questioned Wednesday afternoon by detectives then booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of criminal homicide.
According to police officers and records, Wimble and Dyer, who lived together in Apt. 21, were often the targets of complaints by other tenants and by each other of fighting and causing disturbances.
The two had been fighting constantly since Friday, said homicide squad Sgt. Don Bell.
In fact, the apartment manager had recently separated the two tenants, moving Wimble to Apt. 9, where Dyer's body was found Wednesday afternoon, Bell said.
