Janet Jackson was named Monday as recipient of a special honor at the 24th Annual NAACP Image Awards on Jan. 11. The 25-year-old singer was chosen for the Chairman's Award of the National Association for Advancement of Colored People for her contributions to charity. For example, the organization said, during a nine-month concert tour last year, Jackson donated 25 cents from every ticket to a program aimed at keeping youngsters from dropping out of school.
