Two Rangely, Colo., men have been fined $1,000 each on their guilty pleas to charges of illegally transporting live fish caught in northeastern Utah's Steinaker Reservoir, Uintah County officials said Tuesday.

David L. Johnson and Les W. Smith also were placed on one-year probation. They face similar charges in Colorado in connection with a related incident.Johnson and Smith were arrested Aug. 27 on a tip from Colorado fisheries officials, said Ron Stewart of the Utah Wildlife Resources Division. "Colorado officers tipped us off," said Stewart. Officials believe the bluegills were illegally introduced into Kenney Reservoir in northwestern Colorado.
