Gubernatorial candidates Norm Bangerter, Merrill Cook and Ted Wilson will debate Thursday at Southern Utah State College in conjunction with the Utah Summit Meeting on Rural Economic Development.

"The gubernatorial debate is planned to highlight the comprehensive economic conference," said Lana Johnson, convocation coordinator. "We have a unique opportunity to question our candidates within the context of an important conference and to participate in a program planned to assist voters in the decision making process."KUED will air the debate Nov. 7, the day before the general election. Voters will choose among incumbent Republican Bangerter, former Salt Lake City Democratic Mayor Wilson, and Independent candidate Cook.

Questions will be asked on a 50/50 split from the moderator and the live audience.

The program starts at 11 a.m. in the SUSC Centrum and is being co-sponsored by the Associated Students of SUSC.
