A Simmental steer entered by Richman Simmentals of Tooele has been named winner of the Utah Sim-mental Association's Carcass Futurity.

The animal, top in a field of 30 entries, was judged on the basis of highest value per day of age. The winner was rated at $3.26 per pound. The 741-pound carcass was graded select minus.Kent Bangerter, Bountiful, took second place in the contest with a steer that had a retail value of $3.24 per pound. Third place went to Jay Rinderknecht, Paradise, with a value of $3.21 and fourth place went to Utah Power & Light Co., Huntington, with a steer valued at $3.09 per pound.
