An autopsy was to be performed Monday on a 2-month-old boy found dead Friday night with a plastic bag over his head.
Salt Lake police said investigation into the death is continuing, but no further details were to be released.Police said T.J. Boyd, 316 Cheyenne, was found with the plastic bag over his head about eight to 10 minutes after he was put down for a nap Friday night. Paramedics were called to the child's home, but the infant was later pronounced dead at Primary Children's Medical Center.
The live-in boyfriend of the victim's mother told police he found the boy with the plastic bag over his head when he went to check on the infant shortly after the boy was put down for a nap. The man began screaming for help and two neighbors responded and applied cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a police report said.
Two firefighters responding to the emergency later showed police investigators the bag found on the victim's head. "There was blood on it and they (the firemen) stated something wasn't right about this," the report said.
